Palmer/Lingard Wedding

The best gigs are the ones that come out of nowhere.
I am so glad I was able to play for Kayleen and Grant's special day. The location was so beautiful and cozy in the middle of a neighborhood backed by a large park with hanging lights and fluffy white tulle everywhere. They wisely had me placed by the pool where large flower creations floated among tiny flickering candles and the sound of the harp bounced off the water and weaved through the whole party. The decorations were absolutely lovely.

The clear christmas ornaments dangling from trees were so delicate and whimsical it perfectly accented the white lights and slightly vintage feel.

And the cake wasn't half bad, either!

Vanilla cake with an absolutely scrumptious raspberry filling and sweet buttercream icing, I just had to have two pieces. Lovingly made by one of the wedding party I heard! So delicious.

The bride and groom (well, at least mostly the bride) were so pleased with how it turned out and that's the whole reason why I do weddings. The smiles of clients on the day they will remember for the rest of their lives is a special kind of joy of which I can't get enough.

All the best wishes to Kayleen and Grant!

Bucket of Success!

Alrighty folks, the Downtown Mesa Wedding Walk went swimmingly well! Thanks so much to the Phoenix Marriot Mesa and their wonderful wedding coordinator Kimberly McCarthy. She was a doll through this whole process organizing I don't even know how many vendors and was still perfectly pleasant with me personally.
We handed out all in all I believe over fifteen cards and possibly have three guaranteed gigs coming this year! My husband Mark wandered for most of the evening and reported that the sound of the harp bounced off the many walls surrounding the outdoor Veranda, so you could hear it most everywhere. Tough luck if you were standing near the water fountain.
I had the pleasure of being "Veranda mates" with ZuZu's Petals which is pretty much the most adorable florist shop name I could ever imagine. Please come up with a new name for my business. Bestow your creativity! I wish I'd gotten some photos of their layout, but I didn't know if they'd really appreciate it. Just lemme say, it was beautiful!
As well as an officiant service with some very bubbly and delightful women at the booth. During the slow parts of the evening they were fun to have nearby for conversation and such.
The first two hours were filled with patrons and we learned very quickly even if you only have one price, you still need a price sheet. Luckily, the back of our business cards are blank so we could write it down on that. A lot of the attendees were very friendly and not at all bride-zilla-y.
All in all, it was a lovely Sunday and I'm so very glad we were able to participate!

Wedding Walk 2012

We're coming up on one week from the Downtown Mesa Wedding Walk! I couldn't be more excited for this opportunity. Playin' with the big boys now!
Here's to hopin' that not everybody has given up harp as a delightful addition to their special day and we can snag a few awesome clients. I do just love weddings :)

Check out these certificates I made for the event! Some bride out there is one lucky, lucky woman;

Did I mention I'm super stoked?
